Why does the paving base get its own photo?

The compacted base is where paving usually fails, and it is hidden once the pavers go down. On Completo the excavation and base stage cannot be marked complete without a photo of the compacted base, so you see it before it disappears. Your money stays in the SafePay trust account until you approve each stage.

Do I pay a deposit to the paving contractor?

No. You pay the quote into the SafePay trust account. The first release is the pavers and materials on site, confirmed with a delivery photo and delivery note.

Who supplies the pavers?

Either you or the contractor. The job form asks, so quotes are comparable, and the materials milestone photo shows what was delivered.

Will cars drive on the new paving?

Tell the job form. Driveways need a deeper, properly compacted base than a walkway, and the base photo milestone shows you it was done.

What does paving cost per square metre?

Paving is priced per square metre, supply and lay or labour only, and depends on the base preparation, the paver type and access. Post your job free and compare real quotes from verified contractors.

What happens if pavers sink later?

Sinking usually points at the base. That is why Completo requires the base photo before laying: you and your contractor both have the evidence of how it was prepared.

Access: whether a delivery truck can reach the area.
Drainage: water pooling or a slope needs falls and sometimes channels.
