Privacy Policy

Completo (Pty) Ltd (“Completo”, “we”, “us”) runs the Completo marketplace at completo.co.za. We are the responsible party for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have.

1. What we collect

• When you post a job: your name, email address, phone number, city, and the details of the job you describe.
• When you apply as a contractor: your name, business name, email address, phone number, city, trades, team size, years in business, registration type, and insurance status.
• When you browse: standard technical information such as your device type and pages visited, collected through cookies and analytics tools (see section 7).

We only ask for what we need to match you with contractors or to verify a contractor's application. We do not collect special personal information (such as health or biometric data).

2. What we use it for

• Matching homeowners with verified contractors and sharing job details with contractors who can quote.
• Verifying contractor credentials before they can quote on jobs.
• Contacting you about your job post, your application, or your account.
• Facilitating payments through SafePay and facilitating disputes.
• Improving the site and measuring which pages and campaigns work.

We do not sell your personal information. We only send marketing if you have opted in or POPIA otherwise allows it, and you can opt out at any time.

3. Payments — TradeSafe is our escrow partner

When you fund a job through SafePay, the payment is processed by TradeSafe, our escrow partner. Funds sit in a TradeSafe trust account with Standard Bank as the custodian. TradeSafe collects the payment details it needs to process the transaction, under its own terms and privacy policy.

Completo never stores raw bank account numbers or card numbers. We see transaction status (funded, released, disputed) — not your banking credentials.

4. Who we share it with

• Contractors: when you post a job, matched contractors receive the job details and the contact information needed to quote.
• Homeowners: when a contractor quotes, the homeowner sees the contractor's business details, credentials, and reviews.
• TradeSafe: to process SafePay payments, as described in section 3.
• Service providers: hosting, lead storage, email, and analytics providers that process data on our behalf under contract.
• Legal: where a law, regulator, court, or arbitration process requires it.

5. How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above — for example, while your job or application is active, and afterwards for as long as the law requires us to keep records (such as transaction and dispute records). When we no longer need it, we delete or de-identify it.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls on the systems that store leads and applications. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

7. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and to measure advertising (for example Google, Meta, and TikTok measurement tools, where enabled). These tell us things like which pages are visited and whether a campaign led to a job post. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

8. Your rights under POPIA

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
• Ask us to correct or delete your personal information.
• Object to processing, including direct marketing.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
